WSB-TV poll: Georgia presidential election is too close to call

Donald Trump is clinging to a two-point lead over Hillary Clinton in Georgia in the final days of the presidential election, according to a WSB-TV poll released on Friday.

The poll conducted by Landmark/Rosetta Stone found Trump leading Clinton 48-46, which is within the 3 point margin of error. Libertarian Gary Johnson is polling at 4 percent, far less than some other recent polls, and just 2 percent of voters remain undecided.

“We are seeing less volatility or movement in Georgia than is being seen elsewhere,” said pollster Mark Rountree. “Trump has consistently led Georgia by a few points all year, except for a short-term tie right after the Democratic National Convention.”

An Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll released on Oct. 24 also had the race in a statistic tie, with Trump leading Clinton by 2 percentage points.

The WSB poll found that U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson was on the cusp of avoiding a runoff in his bid for a third term with 49.6 percent of the vote. Democrat Jim Barksdale hovered around 40 percent and Libertarian Allen Buckley was at 5 percent. About 6 percent of voters said they hadn’t made up their minds.

Both Buckley and Johnson polled closer to double-digits in other recent surveys, and Friday’s poll could be an indication that some Libertarian supporters are fleeing to other candidates as the race tightens.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s top second-term initiative, the Opportunity School District plan, looks to be in trouble in the closing stretch. WSB’s poll found that the proposal, which would empower the state to take control of perennially struggling schools, is losing 58-29. The AJC poll and several other recent surveys also showed the plan, also known as Amendment 1, failing by a wide margin.

Landmark/Rosetta Stone conducted its poll of 1,000 likely Georgia voters, and the margin of error was 3.1 percent.

I guess if I was a Christian that had no problem with corruption, dishonesty, abortion and putting my faith in a party that backs countries that are against free will and individual rights, then I'd vote Hillary

Very Rev. John Lankeit from the Diocese of Phoenix delivers a clear and concise homily about which political/social issues Catholics can vote on based on prudential judgement, and which issues are non-negotiable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=881aDDE5qFY

Trump has committed fraud, encouraged Russia to hack us (treason), robbed his contractors and suppliers, ripping off charitable donations to his foundation, cheated on his taxes, tried to force his mistress to have an abortion, cheated on his wives, cheated American workers out of jobs by bringing in underpaid immigrants, stiffed American workers by building with Chinese steel, owes millions to Russia, did business with terrorist Iranian banks, and is being investigated for raping a little girl.

Georgia will very soon be a BLUE state. Nastiness and bigotry has proven that it doesn't win friends and influence people.

The state will finally grow and flourish as a Blue state.

Really, who cares about the voting in GA? Half the ballots have a uncontested candidate and one is left to wonder if contested they are left off intentionally?

. Yes Hillary is extremely popular in several key battleground states: Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. What I do not understand is why Hillary’s diehard supporters are like Christmas Light half don’t work and the other half aren’t very bright. When Hillary is under investigation by the FBI for her e-mails and the foundation and mocks Catholics for their faith and Latinos are needy and as taco bowls. She wants to keep blacks in the ghettos’. So why would put a corrupt crooked person in office. Walkerville, MD – An FBI agent believed to be responsible for the latest email leaks “pertinent to the investigation” into Hillary Clinton’s private email server while she was Secretary of State, was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide early Saturday morning, according to police. https://youtu.be/1TTOEclD5BA

Nastiness and bigotry won't help you win friends and influence people. But that's the republican way. But please keep it up. Its helps with registration of more democratic votes

You register your vote on a machine in Georgia. You get a card that is not readable by human. You take that to the big machine and they counted as a vote. Nobody knows if their vote is being cast for the right candidate in the state.

Paper trails are desperately needed in Georgia to keep the Repubs honest!

Maybe you need more reading education?

Mary Henderson

We THE PEOPLE owe it to ourselves to research for yourself. It's a crime to not look into who and what you are voting for. We can not rely on media. We can not go look at a candidates web page for answers. We need to look at REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT PLATFORM PAGES. You might be very surprised to see where you fit in. All I can say is putting Hillary, who is so corrupt and under investigation in many ways, is a mistake. She will be blackmailed by every country she has played with. The world is laughing at USA that Americans would consider this. Do your research...It's our lives.

Vanbren5

The problems for your party is that they don't need to read the republican party platform to discover how evil, bigoted, racist, misogynistic, islamophobic, xenophobic and simply hateful republicans really are.

I hope all the minorities get out and vote. Atlanta has a huge black population as well as many Latino and Middle Eastern people. I would love to see Georgia support a Democrat in this election.
