Pro-Trump ‘Spirit of America’ rallies coming to Georgia

Donald Trump supporters are planning a wave of conservative rallies in Georgia and across the nation this month to push back against the massive protests by Trump critics since his Jan. 20 inauguration.

Georgia tea party guru Debbie Dooley is helping to organize the “Spirit of America” events across the nation, which she said are open to anyone supporting Trump in his efforts to “bring back manufacturing jobs to America, put the security of our nation ahead of political correctness” and other staples of the president’s campaign rhetoric.

The first rally will be held on Feb. 25 at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds in southeast Georgia. A second event will be at the Liberty Plaza – across the street from the statehouse – on Feb. 27.

“President Trump is under attack from the left, so we need to show the left we support President Trump,” Dooley said in a note to supporters. “The rally will be positive, patriotic and uplifting.  Please don’t bring negative signs as we will be there to support President Trump in a positive manner.”

It’s a direct response to an intense wave of political activism that has swept up Democrats and other Trump critics since his election.

Opponents of Trump’s policies have marched in the streets of the state’s biggest cities, sent an avalanche of phone calls to GOP lawmakers and held a spate of town halls to try to channel that anger into activity. The size and scope of the movement has stunned even longtime Democratic activists who have seen the ebb and flow of movements such as the Moral Monday protests.

The amount of money it's gonna take to accommodate him and his family and his Secret Service protection is staggering...just having his office at Trump Tower is costing us .It is ridiculous what it's going to cost to maintain him and his whims.

I have always thought of Atlanta as the city too busy to hate. I could make an exception for Trump and Trump supporters.

1. I say lets all spend that day making phone calls to our local reps; 2. I fear the "Georgia militia" will be there with their semi-automatics \U0001f633 Stay away!!!!

isnt this simply an invitation for more anti-Trump rallies. and is there any doubt that the anti-trump rallies would be larger....

If I understand correctly, the Georgia support rallies for unifying the nation are being planned, funded & attended by the citizens themselves (no taxpayer money). And the President won't even be there. IJS. The Atlanta "pushback" is not surprising... But the spirit of obstructing unity does not actually represent the entire state. It seems like a lot of regular folks are ready to dispense with this particular brand of games & "get the show on the road". It's time to move on. Also, understand that the same Silent Support that showed up at the voting booths will not be at these rallies. I foresee people salivating at the chance to report low turn-out at these rallies. But understand: God-fearing patriots have been driven underground by attempts to publicly shame & bully them. Nonetheless, the support for national unity is deep & strong. It will show show up when it really matters.

SMH! Unbelievable! These are people we know! Some grinning in our faces and appreciating every racist/prejudice/discriminatory thing the present Occupant of the Oval Office is doing and saying! What about the money? Hasn't he spent enough of taxpayer money taking weekly vacations and campaigning?

The media hates Trump, the Democrats hate Trump, and the Republicans don't like him. He was elected by working class Americans and he needs their support to govern.

Specifically, what law did Trump disregard? False accusations diminish your argument.

Martina Hemming

It's not really a matter of like or dislike. It really has to do with Trump's disregard for law, ethics and civility.

Which laws has Trump not disregarded?

I understand that you may have policy disagreements with Trump, but there is not a single thing you mentioned that is against the law.

Martina Hemming

Lou Davis There's so much... there's his failure to pay taxes and repeatedly forcing the government to pursue legal action. Then, his failure to release his tax returns so that they can be examined for Constitutional violations and conflicts of interest. There's his disregard for the Constitution when he stated, “If I become president, we’re all going to be saying, ‘Merry Christmas’ again. That I can tell you.” in his political machination of "the war on Christmas". The US Government, cannot force people or businesses to give specific religious greetings. Then there is his failure to understand immigration law with the ridiculous Muslim ban order. Then, his disregard for international law by trying to coerce Mexico to pay for his ridiculous wall and his bizarre idea that he can just build on private property and Indian land. Then there's his disregard for the Geneva Convention and his stated objectives of purposely targeting civilians, violating refugees and his desire to "take the oil" from countries.

Still waiting for a single illegal act. False accusations diminish your argument.
