Bob Gray’s pro-Trump credentials under fire in Georgia’s special election

Two of the biggest Donald Trump boosters in the race for Georgia’s Sixth District are feuding with each other in the battle for the suburban Atlanta district.

Bruce LeVell, who was head of Trump’s diversity coalition, said Bob Gray has been “lying to the Trump voters from the start of this campaign” about his support for the president. He included a yard sign purported to be on Gray’s Facebook page that he said exposes him as a “false prophet.”

“Bob Gray was one of countless snarky nobodies putting out NeverTrump yard signs in 2016,” he said, “while I was in the trenches leading the President’s army to success in Georgia.”

Gray, a former Johns Creek councilman, has promised to be a “willing partner” of Trump and has featured his drain the swamp slogan in his ad campaign. His aide had no comment about the social media post, but said the campaign’s focus is on Democrat Jon Ossoff.

“We’re focused on defeating the Democrat,” said Joash Thomas, a campaign spokesman, “not any of the candidates polling below Lindsey Graham.”

Jason Anavitarte, who was a leading Marco Rubio supporter, said in a Twitter post late Thursday that Gray endorsed the Florida senator in Georgia’s 2016 primary. He attached another Facebook post from Gray to his message.

Trump won the district, which stretches from east Cobb to north DeKalb, by just one point in November. But the two contend his approval rating in the solidly-conservative area is surprisingly high, and hope to land a spot in a June 20 runoff by defending the president.

The Club for Growth PAC’s endorsement of Gray has become another flashpoint. The free-market advocacy group has long had a queasy relationship with Trump and LeVell, who has rejected help from political action committees, called it “Trump’s number one enemy.”

I really don't care. All I do care about is that Democrats pull together, stop the bickering and back someone who can beat ANY republican for this sear.

That's what hate does to people; it doesn't have boundaries.

This is a slash at Bob Gray!! Look...LeVell may be a good candidate, but there are several events he has not shown up at when ALL the candidates were there. However, one thing I want to point out is a lot of the Trump people think if you were not on the Trump Train from the start you cant ride now! Really??? That is snobby at best! Thats what vetting is for!!! What matters is if they are on America's side now which means they support OUR PRESIDENT! Bob Gray is that! And to suggest otherwise to plant a seed of doubt is nothing more than what the libs do all the time....try to divide us! This kind of crap is like 14 year olds!!! Bob Gray is completely behind our president and our country!! Now, why would LeVell need to take this tact huh? Makes you wonder if you're not strong enough to stand on your own two feet that you must resort to throwing things at your competition then maybe YOU are the problem!

I knew of Trump back in New York, back when my company had an office there. Most every small business in New York tried to avoid doing business with his company because he ripped off his contractors on a reg. basis. .... I say, let's put John Ossoff in the house.

I say..... you lie through your teeth! I doubt you were high enough on the corporate totem pole to know that to be fact! Go spew your lies elsewhere!

I've read the same thing from numerous businesses. I'm surprised you take issue with lying anyway, as Trump demonstratively lies continuously - the new normal for the GOP.

Turner you have my maiden name, But no way would I follow the communist organizer Obama. He and Hillary both are nothing but puppetts to George Soros. Research it. Obama and Geoge Soros Connection. No I don't agree with Trump on everything, but I sure as heck rather follow him than the Communist.
